Azimuth Structural Engineering worked closely with the Owen Harris Memorial Ground Charity to provide a full package of engineering services including; co-ordination of geotechnical investigation activities, design of foundations, masonry and steel superstructure and engineered timber roof structure.
The design incorporates traditional masonry construction allied to a rigid steel sway frame to allow full width glazing and a clear span area to be created for the main hall. The roof structure consists of long span engineered timber joists, incorporating long eaves overhangs, to provide a large unobstructed area to support Photovoltaic Panels. Solar Panels are also incorporated into the design, to provide a sustainable facility for the local community.
